You may ask…what the heck is Chocolate “Mud”? And…why are we eating it for dessert?
Well, for one, it’s really good! Secondly, in celebration of Earth Day and Chocolate Mud is kinda like real mud, which kinda reminds us of the earth. Except this version of mud is made with pudding, Oreos and gummy worms!
This is seriously a sweet treat that both kids and (fun) adults will love. It’s so easy and insanely fast to make. Need we say more?
Time to dig in!
Place Oreos into a large Ziploc bag and crush the cookies with hands (OR cup OR rolling pin) and set aside.
Beat chocolate pudding mix into non-dairy milk using hand held or electric beater for 2 minutes.
Pour into serving dish and allow to stand for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle about ⅓ of the crushed Oreo cookie crumbs into the bottom of the serving bowl. Next, spoon the chocolate pudding over the crumbs.
Smooth out the top of the pudding then top with the rest of the Oreo crumbs to resemble dirt. Place the sour gummy worms into the pudding (the more creative, the better)!
Refrigerate for 1 hour.
NOTES + SERVING TIPS
For extra mud-looking points, untwist the cookies and scrape off the cream filling before crushing the Oreo cookies!
Serve chilled + extra points for creative toppings like edible flowers and leaves!
