HOMEMADE WATERMELON GATORADE

Well, the heat is officially here!

While the summer sun heats up, one thing is for sure…we need to make sure we are staying HYDRATED. It’s so easy to get hot outside and reach for a sugary drink, but sugary drinks are not the best hydrators.

So how do we try to stay hydrated yet avoid mounds of processed sugars? One of our contributing chefs, Candice Hutchings has got you covered with her *healthy spin* on the ever-so-popular, Gatorade drinks!

This refreshing drink allows us to easily and naturally get in our electrolytes while staying ON TOP of the hydration game. Plus, this recipe will only take about 5 minutes!

 

INGREDIENTS

3 – 4 cups coconut water

⅛ – ¼ tsp Himalayan sea salt (to taste)

½ watermelon

1 oz Nutri Maqui Supplement

1 – 2 Tbsp of pure maple syrup or coconut sugar

½ tsp crushed calcium magnesium tables or powder (optional)

PREP

Cube the watermelon and set aside.

Grab your high-speed blender and a cup or mason jar of choice!

METHOD

Place the watermelon in a blender, and blend until it makes juice.

Pour into a mason jar, or container of choice.

Add the remaining ingredients to your mason jar, and shake or mix until well combined.

That’s it. Now, enjoy!
