Too often relegated to a topping, delicious and heart-healthy walnuts take the starring role in this sweet treat recipe.
Bring a sauce pot of water to a simmer and create a double boiler with a glass bowl on top.
Place parchment paper on a plate.
Place vegan chocolate chips in the bowl and allow to melt over low heat without stirring
Combine cocoa powder and organic sugar in a small bowl.
Place half of the cocoa mixture on the parchment paper, spreading evenly.
Once the chocolate is fully melted, pour in half of the walnuts, and stir to coat evenly.
Once evenly coated, use tongs to remove each walnut half and place on the parchment over the cocoa mixture. Sprinkle with some of the extra mixture and dust with just a tiny amount of cayenne pepper for a kick.
Repeat the process with the second half of the walnuts.
Place in freezer to harden.

Once the chocolate covering has hardened, carefully remove the walnuts from the parchment and serve as a tasty snack.
