Sweet + Smoky BBQ Sauce

So you’re planning some epic outdoor entertaining this Summer? We’re kicking things off this Memorial Day with burgers and of course, barbecuing.

The keys to summer grilling and bbq are flavor and speed. Who wants to be standing over the hot grill all day?

Our favorite way to pack some major flavor in a little time is this Sweet + Smoky BBQ Sauce. It’s so delicious, you can put it on almost anything – burgers, grilled veggies, portabello steaks, baked potatoes, and even pizza and tacos.

2 cups ketchup

1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

2 Tbsp molasses

1/3 cup organic brown sugar

2 Tbsp garlic powder

1 Tbsp onion powder

4 tsp dried mustard powder

3 Tbsp smoked paprika

2 tsp chili powder

sea salt, to taste

freshly ground pepper, to taste


Heat a medium sauce pan on the stove.


Combine all ingredients in the sauce pan.

Cook on medium heat, stirring to combine.

When sauce begins to boil and starts to thicken, remove from heat.

Notes + Serving Tips

Let sauce cool before using.

Use or freeze within 5 days.

Serve on burgers, hot dogs, pizza, or use it as a marinade for grilled mushrooms and veggies.
