Serves 1

Today happens to be National Rum Day. We’re big fans of rum, but we feel like it just doesn’t get the same love that vodka, tequila, and whiskey do.

Whether it’s white rum, dark rum, or spiced rum, you just can’t help but feel transported to a Summery oasis when sipping on a rum cocktail.

by CHLOE. Contributing ChefLauren Kretzer, is also a fan of the spirit and took inspiration from her travels in the Caribbean for this rum cocktail. Inspired by the traditional cocktail known as the “Painkiller” in the British Virgin Islands, this version kicks it up a notch with pure vanilla extract and the essential fresh ground nutmeg.
