Sunday, April 22nd is Earth Day! We get it- it’s easy to feel like one person can’t make a difference in protecting our planet, but we’re here to tell you that you CAN. And you SHOULD! As humans, we are responsible for taking care of our beautiful Earth. There are sooooo many ways you can help!
At by CHLOE., sustainability is a part of us. A plant-based diet majorly helps our planet (see “Vegans + The World“ for facts on how a vegan diet supports the 🌏!). All of our bowls and plates are compostable. Our menus, utensils, placemats, cups and all other packaging is recyclable. However, our brand is actively taking steps to become more sustainable. We will be sharing some exciting updates, very soon!

CarbonFund.org‘s Linda Kelly answered questions we had about carbon emissions, reducing and offsetting carbon footprints.

bC: Tell us about CarbonFund.org?
CF: CarbonFund.org is leading the fight against global warming, making it easy and affordable for any individual, business or organization to reduce & offset their climate impact and hasten the transition to a clean energy future. Carbonfund.org achieves its goals through: climate change education, carbon offsets and reductions, public outreach.
bC: For those who don’t know, explain what a “carbon footprint” is?
CF: A “carbon footprint” is the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases emitted due to the consumption of fossil fuels by a particular person, group, etc.
bC: What are a few ways that individuals can reduce their carbon footprint, in their daily lives?
CF: Feel free to pick your favorite ways, on our website, here!
bC: Explain “Carbon Offsetting,” and some projects that your organization is involved with?
CF: A carbon offset is a reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide or greenhouse gases made in order to compensate for or to offset an emission made elsewhere. CarbonFund.org helped to establish The Envira Amazonia Rainforest Conservation Project in Acre, Brazil, protecting nearly 500,000 acres / 200,000 hectares of tropical rainforest that absorbs and sequesters carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The Envira Amazonia Project will mitigate the release of more than 12.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, while also preserving the habitat for an extraordinary amount of biodiversity and directly benefitting local communities.
bC: Why is working to end climate change important to you, and why should it be important to everyone?
CF: Climate change is real, we are all responsible for it and we all must be part of the solution!
bC: Where do you see Carbonfund.org in 5 years?
CF: CarbonFund.org will celebrate its fifteenth anniversary this year. Over the next five years, we plan to continue our mission to help lead the transition to a ZeroCarbon World™ and a cleaner, healthier planet.
